Welcome to Pursuit of Happiness! We have had the honor of providing trauma-informed counseling for over 3,000 children in foster care since our formation in 2011. Chase Chick, LPC, CEO started this organization in DFW with a few like-minded clinicians to fill the gap in care for kids and families in foster care when he saw that these kids were falling through the cracks of the system.

Our 100+ counselors specialize in trauma-informed clinical interventions for this unique population. Pursuit of Happiness provides counseling for children 3 and up. We offer in in-home counseling for these kiddos and families, but we'll meet wherever is clinically appropriate (daycare, school, telehealth). Our services include individual and child-centered family counseling as well as CANS assessments. We offer counseling in English, Spanish, & Chinese.
We are committed to providing consistent quality care for these children because we know how hard it can be to start over with a new relationship. Many of our counselors have personal experience with the foster care system. Several were foster children, siblings or parents themselves! We also have clinicians who have worked as DFPS caseworkers, Placement Agency case managers, and CASA. Our counselors genuinely love and have a heart for this population!
Exciting Update: In 2024, we identified another gap in care–this time for the geriatric population--and we have expanded our services to provide counseling for adults throughout their lifespan. We are excited about this new horizon!
We are in network with Traditional Medicaid, Superior Healthplan, Wellpoint, Cooks, Parkland, Aetna-Medicaid, and Medicare.
